Welcome to Part 6 in our “Signs of War” and Catastrophes series.
Astronomical phenomena such as comets, eclipses, solar cycles, and meteor showers are cyclical. The hypothesis is that by looking at history, ancient theological worldviews, scripture, the Mazzaroth, and Laws of Planetary Motion, we can better understand what are the signs that God is trying to reveal to us in bible prophecy events.

Introduction

In the last several articles we have been following the comet 12P/Pons-Brooks through history from 1812, 1883, 1954, to 2024. Comet 12P/Pons-Brooks (12P) is also known as 'The Devil Comet' or 'Mother of Dragons'¹ The comet has left a trail of destruction and war through the centuries. Is this all just a coincidence?

The “Devil Comet” name originates from the comet’s cryovolcanic activity which gives the comet “devilish horns” as it travels through the heavens around the sun.

What about dragons?

Smaug the Last Dragon

Dragons have been a popular character throughout literature and many will remember the fictional character in The Hobbit, by J.R.R. Tolkien, first published in 1937. Smaug, the greatest fire-breathing dragon of the Third Age describes himself,

"My armour is like tenfold shields, my teeth are swords, my claws spears, the shock of my tail is a thunderbolt, my wings a hurricane, and my breath death!"²

Smaug was the main climactic antagonist of Bilbo Baggins,

When Bilbo Baggins first encounters Smaug he can hear his snoring - "like the noise of a large pot galloping in the fire, mixed with the rumble of a gigantic tom-cat purring" - but is most of all struck by the reddish glow and heat that Smaug gives off, both of which travel up the passage-way so Smaug is felt long before he is seen. His flames are green and scarlet.³

Because of Smaug’s appetite and demeanor,

The area surrounding the mountain became known as the Desolation of the Dragon as "there was neither bush nor tree, and only broken and blackened stumps to speak of ones long vanished".⁴

Tolkein’s rendition of the dragon almost parallels the great volcanoes of the 1812 Augustine Volcano, the 1883 Krakatoa Eruption, and the 1955/2023 Kilauea eruptions. Like Smaug, volcanoes are like “large pots boiling in the fire, with a reddish glow, emitting great heat”. The breath of the “winged Leviathan” erupts with hot burning fire and ash, there is nothing but death and desolation. Neither bush nor tree are left standing, only broken, blackened stumps.

Let’s review the woman and the dragon highlighted in Revelation.

Revelation 12 - Two Great Signs

In Revelation 12:1-2, there is “a great sign in heaven”,

 A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars; ² and she was with child; and she cried out, being in labor and in pain to give birth.

Let’s use a few rules to guide this analysis. Applying Hermeneutics or The Science of Interpreting the Scriptures:

• Rule 1: Discover the Author, the People Addressed,
  and the Life and Times of the People Involved in a Given Case⁵

  • Apostle John was banished to the island of Patmos and was the last living Apostle who was given a vision of the Revelation of Jesus Christ. He was Christ’s beloved apostle who authored five New Testament books.⁶

• Rule 2: Discover the Facts and Truths Presented in a Given Passage
  and Note the Exact Wording of the Text⁷

  • Where was the great sign? It “appeared in heaven”

  • What was the sign? “a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon at her feet, 12 stars above her head, and she was crying out in labor with a child.”

• Rule 3: The Golden Rule of Interpretation⁸

  • When the plain sense of scripture makes common sense, seek no other sense; Therefore, take every word at its primary, ordinary, usual, literal meaning unless the facts of the immediate context, studied in the light of related passages and axiomatic and fundamental truths indicate clearly otherwise.

    • Immediate context: A heavenly sign

    • Plain sense:

      • the sun is clothed or pinned to the woman,

      • the moon is at her feet,

      • 12 stars are above the woman, (9 stars in Leo the Lion + Mercury, Mars, and Venus, known as wandering stars)

      • and she is giving birth. (Jupiter is spinning in the woman’s womb for 9 months)

      • All the above occurred on September 23rd, 2017 in the celestial Second Heavens

• Literally, this describes a sign in the heavens with sun, moon, and stars.

• Allegorically this symbolizes Mary giving birth to Jesus Christ.

The following storyboard is from The Covenant Signs, Storyboard #3 Revelation 12: Satan, the Dragon, Is Waiting To Destroy:

In Revelation 12, the 2nd sign is a dragon, a fiery-red dragon,

³ Then another sign appeared in heaven:

an enormous red dragon with seven heads and ten horns and seven crowns on its heads.

⁴ Its tail swept a third of the stars out of the sky and flung them to the earth. The dragon stood in front of the woman who was about to give birth, so that it might devour her child the moment he was born.

In April 2023, during the writing of The Sixth Seal Signs, Part 8: Revelation 6: Sixth Seal Analysis: Are Meteor Showers like the Draconids a Sign? a correlation was made between the dragon symbolically as the serpent-of-old, which is written by Apostle John twice in the Revelation of Jesus Christ,

And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,

Revelation 20:2

“Then another sign appeared in heaven” - if Revelation 12:3 is taken literally as Revelation 12:1 is interpreted with Virgo the Virgin and Leo the Lion, then through deductive reasoning the 2nd sign may be in the Mazzaroth.

If this is true, the Mazzaroth portrays the story of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the war in heaven and earth against the dragon, which is the Devil, Satan, that deceives the whole world.

Draco the Dragon

Published on November 11th, 2023, before The Covenant Signs series, is an article on Draco called “Another Sign Appeared in Heaven: And Behold, A Great Red Dragon”. Here is an excerpt,

I studied the massive winding serpent-dragon overhead, the diamond was part of the torso (note the dotted line diamond in the screenshot below), and then I traced the winding “Great Serpent” from the star Eltanin and Rastaban, meaning “head of the Serpent”, to its tail Thuban, meaning “large snake”. [or “the subtle”]

Being September, it was too early for the Draconid meteor shower, but I made a mental note to look for the showers in October 2024 and 2025 when there will be hundreds or more meteors per hour bursting forth from Draco’s eye.

The head and tail star names refer to serpents and snakes. The claws seem to refer to prey or prey-like behavior, literally named the goat and hyena.⁹

Draco the Dragon research revealed an interesting October meteor shower emanating from the “eye of the dragon”, or the star Rastaban, which denotes “head of the Serpent or Dragon”. Revelation 6:13 was analyzed by looking back at meteor showers from 1933 and 1946 that exceeded 10,000 meteors per hour. Then the research astronomically projected what may occur in October 2024 and 2025 with an increase of meteors that will fall to Earth.

and the stars of the sky fell to the earth,
as a fig tree casts its unripe figs
when shaken by a great wind.

In The Sixth Seal Signs, the hypothesis was made that Revelation 6:13 in the Sixth Seal is referring to meteor showers.

What if there is another meteor shower from Draco the Dragon’s tail?

The Draconids vs. kappa-Draconids

The Draconids are caused by 21P/Giacobini-Zinner (21P). The Comet 21P’s long trail of ice particles during its 6.54-year orbit of the sun forms a dust cloud that when intersected by the Earth forms meteor showers. 21P is not to be confused with 12P/Pons-Brooks (12P).

To summarize the differences:

12P/Pons-Brooks (aka “Devil Comet”, “Mother of Dragons”)

• Meteor Shower Produced: December kappa-Draconids or k-Draconids

• 71-year orbit

• ~30 kilometers diameter

21P/Giacobini-Zinner (21P)

• Meteor Shower Produced: October Draconids

• 6.54 year orbit

• ~2 km diameter

So the Devil Comet, 12P, is ~10x larger than 21P and has an orbit that is ~10x longer, and on top of that it is cryovolcanic. Space.com states:

The comet, named 12P/Pons-Brooks (12P), is a cryovolcanic, or cold volcano, comet. Like other comets, 12P has a solid nucleus — a hard, icy shell filled with ice, gas and dust — that is surrounded by a fuzzy cloud, or coma made of materials that leak out of the comet's insides.¹⁰

12P’s name “Mother of Dragons” is believed to be due to an astronomical correlation with the kappa-Draconids meteor showers caused by 12P/Pons-Brooks.¹¹ The kappa-Draconids emanate from the star k-Dra, located in the tail of Draco near the star Thuban, which denotes “the subtle”. Subtle as an adjective is defined as:

working or spreading in a hidden and usually injurious way

“a subtle poison”

synonyms:insidious, pernicious

harmful

causing or capable of causing harm¹²

Is it a coincidence that the k-Dra star is in the tail of the dragon, the serpent-of-old, Satan?

“And his [Satan the fiery red dragon’s] tail swept away a third of the stars of heaven and threw them to the earth.” (Revelation 12:4, NASB1995)

2023 December kappa Draconids (DKD)

American Meteor Society, Robert Lunsford, Meteor Activity Outlook for December 2-8, 2023, writes,

The December kappa Draconids (DKD) were discovered by SonotaCo during studies of new radiants in 2008-09. This shower is active from November 29 through December 13 with maximum activity occurring on December 3rd. The radiant is currently located at 12:32 (188) +70. This position lies in extreme western Draco, near the spot occupied by the 4th magnitude star known as kappa Draconis. While the radiant lies above the horizon all night for most of the northern hemisphere, it is best placed during the last hour before dawn, when it lies highest above the northern horizon in a dark sky. Rates could reach 1 per hour on the morning of the 3rd. Away from that morning I would expect hourly rates of less than 1. Due to the high northerly declination of the radiant these meteors are not visible from most of the southern hemisphere. At 43km/sec., the average December kappa Draconid meteor would be of medium velocity.¹³

In 2023, the DKD did not have a very high rate of meteors per hour. Given the cryovolcanic outbursts of 12P as it entered the inner solar system in 2023 and 2024, it would be interesting to see if it left a substantial amount of dust particles for a meteor storm. Let’s keep watch for the October 2024 Draconids and the December 2024 kappa-Draconids.

2024 could be the year for a total eclipse, northern lights, and meteor showers. So stay alert my friends.
